I was born in Boston, grew up in upstate New York, went to Harvard from 1975 through 1980, with a year off. During that year I worked at National Public Radio, drove to the West Coast, played in a punk band and drank an enormous amount of beer. :-)

After graduating I worked in public radio for three years and then in TV news for six years, in northern New England. My media days came to an end in 1989 when I went back to grad school and got a degree in public administration.

After grad school I spent 6 years doing finance work in economic development, then 3 years as CFO for a parking management and real estate development company. The CFO job included financing,insurance and pension and I also oversaw the company's IT department through office automation, migration to a new financial software platform, Y2K remediation and other projects. Whoopee!

Now I am President/COO of an Internet company and loving it! No suits, no big corporate politics, lotsa creativity, and we're even profitable! Life is good.
